The Experience

Pre-session consultation
 
Each and every session is carefully planned and custom designed to fit your personal style and needs.  At your pre-session consultation, we will discuss all of the details that help determine the outcome of your session, including how the images will be displayed, the color design and style of your home, who will be photographed, what to wear, and how to prepare.

About your session
 
All newborn sessions take place in my home studio in Miller, SD.  
 
Newborns are photographed in a style that is simple and natural.  I like to use organic tones that allow emphasis to fall on your baby and all of those sweet, tiny details that you won't want to forget but will change so quickly. 
​
Sessions typically last between 2 and 3 hours, allowing ample time for feeding and snuggling.  The exact length of the session revolves around the baby, with his or her safety and comfort in mind.   
​
The ideal window for a newborn session is between 5 and 12 days of age.  
 
Pregnancy is the perfect time to book a session to ensure availability.  I accept a very limited number of bookings to ensure each client receives the best experience possible.  I will make a tentative booking based on your due date and wait to hear from you when you have arrived home from the hospital to secure an exact date.  
Ordering

Your viewing and ordering appointment will be scheduled approximately two weeks following your session.  At this appointment you will return to the studio, where you will be to enjoy a slideshow of the images in your gallery.  We will then take time to review the images carefully and discuss the products available to you.

I will walk you through the selection process and help you design beautiful, timeless products that are perfect for your home and will be cherished for a lifetime and beyond.   It is at this time that we will finalize your portrait order, so all decision makers should be present.
